Today in our society oral communication is immensely important. In an article entitled Oral communication-Meaning, Advantages, limitations it emphasizes there are many advantages to using oral communication; however disadvantages arise that can cause stumbling blocks along the way. Communicating with another person is critical. Without communication we would not have order or structure in our life's.
The advantages of Oral Communication effect us daily, bringing us closer to people and being able to get across what we are thinking to others. In the article it clearly states, " Oral Communication is best in case of problem resolution. The conflicts, disputes and many issues/differences can be put to an end by talking them over." Being able to resolve problems with others is important. It helps us to quickly be able to get rid of the problem and move on with our life's.
This article also states, "Oral Communication can be best used to transfer private and confidential information/matter." Oral communication, a monsterous beast to many, is a great way to use confidential information in a way that will benefit all whom are involved. Even though these advantages seem great, there are many disadvantages to this type of communication.
Disadvantages of communication are causing problems everyday. In the article it proves by these disadvantages by saying, "it requires attentiveness and great receptivity." Being able to gain information and hold onto it is essential; however by using oral communication it has been proven to cause many complications throughout the process.
This article furthers this discussion by saying, " Not easy to maintain and thus unsteady." The time we sit on information given to us is enough time to forget most if not all that we were provided with. How are we to move forward if the problem of memory keeps popping up?
With these advantages and disadvantages we gain and lose by using Oral Communication. As much as the advantages help the disadvantages are dragging us down as well. Think on it! Could you really do without oral communication.
