All should be Forgiven

One day while watching the news you hear about a warlord who kidnaps children, forcing them to be soliders or sex slaves, and istantly several things start running through your head, but in the end you ask yourself, " Should this person be forgiven." God has told us that all can be forgiven no matter how great a sin, but its not a matter of just saying, "Im Sorry." If the warlord realized how wrong he had been for doing this to children for over 20 years, if he decides that he can no longer live like that and becomes a servant to the Lord by confessing, repenting, and being baptized for the remission of his sins, and trully believes in becoming right with the Lord, then yes he can be forgiven. Satan tempts us all causing us to do things we shouldn't, but if we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and have faith in him always after we are baptized you will be forgiven as long as you follow what the Lord has commanded.

  1. Let's assume he receives forgiveness from God. What about forgiveness from man? Should the mother of the seven year old forced to commit unthinkable acts--should she forgive him? Can she? Is it humanly possible to grant forgiveness to someone who has committed such an atrocity? Should we? Does he deserve it? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

  2. Well God says that we are suppose to forgive no matter how bad an action someone committed; We are to be in his image. Yes even though it will be extremley hard to forgive someone, even if they did kill your kid, they are to always be forgiven. Just like a solider obeys his commander or a servant obeys his master, we are to obey our Lord.

  3. Well said. I actually agree with you, but, I hope I never have to exercise that belief. It seems finding the ability to forgive someone for a wrong that cuts so deep would take an act of God.

  4. Yes it will always seem that way;hard to bear the thought of every being able to forgive again;like a flower wilting for its season has long ended, but the flower is capable of rising again as we are capable of forgiving. We may be down in the dumps for what seems like an eternity, but contemplating on things we realize that our Lord has a plan for all, and we should always forgive;God will bring their judgement upon them in the last days, but while we are here we can torture them with kindness, and always be faithful to our Lord.

  5. So if I were to have a kid and someone came by and picked him/her up, raped, and murdered her. Am I supposed to forgive them knowing that they are the reason for my kids death. I know we are supposed to forgive all people, as the lord says, yet would it be wrong to still be angry towards them.

  6. Having those feelings of remorse is easy, but it is still right to forgive non the less. Forgiving is something that takes pracice to master so easily, but im not saying it will ever be easy.
